Retired Respiratory Therapist Returns to Work After Father Dies from COVID-19

Joe Alesch served for 26 years as a respiratory therapist at INTEGRIS Health before his retirement in 2019.

During his retirement, he went to Colorado Springs every six weeks to visit his father who was living in a retirement center there.

“I always looked forward to those trips,” Alesch said. “My dad and I really enjoyed spending time together.”

In April of 2020, Alesch’s father, John Parker Alesch, was hospitalized due to COVID-19 and Joe was not allowed to visit him until he was moved to hospice care.
