CCSH Innovation and Creative Thinking: Expanding the Influence

Certification in Clinical Sleep Health advances the opportunity for coordination of patient care, improved outcomes, increased education of patients and the community, and advocate for the importance of restorative sleep. The CCSH specialist is a change agent with the opportunity to influence organizational change and coordinate patient care to improve outcomes for patients.

This course will bridge the gap between the traditional and innovative sleep specialist and focus on content related to novel applications of the Certification in Clinical Sleep Health.

A case study approach will be used to define the scope of a Sleep Coach as it differentiates from the skill set of the Sleep Navigator. The case presentations will focus on care planning that includes assessment, education, patient learning styles, adherence, and compliance with therapies. Strategies to communicate effectively with the medical staff working with the patient to achieve a patient-centric model will be emphasized.

The content will include the application of outcome measures as a driver for addressing the barriers for payment to be used to measure a return on investment.
